Island Villages was inspired
by a cruise through the islands of Greece taken
by Weiss in September of 2005. The image that
kept returning to her was of the gleaming white
bui8ldings perched on the very top of the impressive
(and protective) cliffs. They seemed to form
a shining crown atop the rugged terrain. Transparent
watercolor, the painting is 26" x 40" and is
mounted on linen and the frame is gray-washed
ash, measuring 33" x 47" overall.
