Hike was
inspired by a more placid portion of a strenuous
hike in the southern Swiss Alps in the fall
of 1997. Painted nearly a year later, it shows
the essence of the remembered experience. Exhibited
in an invitational show at Lands' End Headquarters,
Dodgeville, Wisconsin (Courtesy of the Fanny
Garver Gallery, Madison, Wisconsin). The image
