Dr. H. Lester Cooke, then Curator
of Painting at the National Gallery of Art in Washington
D.C., asked Lee Weiss in 1969 if she would mind if he
compiled a catalogue of her work of the decade tracing
the growth toward what he termed her mature image. Lee
Weiss Watercolors is the booklet that resulted, (containing
20 reproductions of her paintings, 8 in color) published
